SHAPES IN NATURE – definition as provided by our judge.

The image should show a naturally occurring subject (not something created by humans).  It should have a clearly defined shape as its main feature. The shape does not have to be a common geometric shape such as a circle; it could be an irregular shape . The shape may define a single object or be part of a pattern.

The supporting elements in the image should help to focus attention on the shape and emphasise its importance in the image composition.

Images will be evaluated on three basic criteria – prominence of the shape, composition, and technical qualities.
